This page is a short curated list of freely available resources MOST USEFUL to women experiencing domestic violence or its aftermath.
SHORTLIST:
1) In an emergency always call 000 to speak to police and/or ambulance!
(Domestic violence and/or threats of violence ARE EMERGENCIES so call the police ASAP!)
2) To begin to plan an exit strategy or to simply talk to someone about what you’re going through ph: 1800 737 732 (1800 RESPECT)
3). To get 24/7 help specific to DV including help to access safe alternative accommodation & housing as well as referrals & counselling

https://www.askizzy.org.au/ is a website / web-based app that is basically a directory of every kind of support service available including for DV, homelessness, mental health, health, disability, training & employment, addiction & alcohol services, refugee services, legal, YOU NAME IT.
You can type in a suburb or allow location services on your device (if it is safe for you to do so! Otherwise simply type in a postcode or suburb) and what you need (for example: ‘accommodation’ or ‘a free feed’ etc MANY categories are listed) and you will be shown many options (from nearest to furthest) with the contact details & opening hours of each service!
5) to get assertive advocacy around dv & strategic support accessing services to ensure your needs and rights are always prioritised to get the best outcome for YOU, the victim/survivor contact:
Advoc8survivors are volunteers with LIVED EXPERIENCE who can help with resources, referrals to other services, navigating the system and dealing with obstacles encountered - including less-than-helpful dv services or workers (regardless of wether they’re; gov, ngo, police liaison, etc)
